Dan has worked for Austin Powder Co. out of the LaFollette location for 35 years. We want to celebrate and recognize Dan Lindsay’s milestone of reaching 35 years of service with Austin Powder on February 5, 2022.
Dan Lindsay was an H & M Supply employee in Bryant’s Store, Kentucky, when Austin Powder first came to know him. H & M had some credit problems, so Austin Powder absorbed it in 1987, and Dan was offered a job with Austin Powder.
We kept the Bryan’s Store location for a few years, as it serviced the underground, Blue-Gem coal market in that area. Dan was also a big part of that by leading the sales effort to that small but important, group of customers. Once the coal market deteriorated, Dan came to work out of the LaFollette, Tennessee location as a sales rep and technical rep, first assisting Bill Weaver with that area and then Adrian Stonecipher.
Dan has always had a quick wit and developed relationships with various customers over the years in the coal, quarry, and construction markets. He is one of the reasons that LaFollette has been a successful location for Austin over the past years
